Autism is a neurological development disorder that affects one out of every 150 children born in the United States.
It has been labeled as a Pervasive Development Disorder (PDD) or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The characteristics
range from abnormal social interactions, limited communication skills to repetitive and obsessive behaviors. Severity
of these characteristics range from mild to severe, as each child suffers from their own distinctive limitations in social
development.

Unlocking Autism One Piece At A Time!
|
|
|
Autism in Georgia (AIG) was founded on August 7, 2008 and believes that each person with autism is a unique individual and
deserves the right to learn about alternative options tailored to their specific needs. To the maximum extent possible, AIG
agrees that decsions should be made by parents first and then the affected individual with autism. Services should enhance
and strengthen the relationship between various communities and all those associated by autism.
|
|
It is important to us that we connect families to a support system so they can have someone guide them through the maze on
how to obtain services, locate providers, apply for respite care and serve as a mentor while they navigate this new and
unfamiliar territory.

Help us Make a Difference Now!
Make a Donation
Donate now and your gift will help support autism education, awareness, advocacy, and most importantly, enable us to assist
families living with autism. There are many national and local organizations focused on autism research, but few help with
teaching and reaching children already affected by this disorder. Parents are unprepared to deal with the daily challenges
of having a child with autism and your donation will help Autism In Georgia, Inc. achieve its mission. Your donations are
tax deductible. Please click here to make a donation.
Thank you for helping AIG Make A Difference Now!
